The Model F is WHILL's folding chair, and the case for it is transport rather than performance. The assessment question with any folding powerchair is not the chair's specification — it is whether the person doing the folding and lifting can actually do it, repeatedly, at the boot height of the vehicle they own. A folding chair nobody can lift is a chair that stays in the garage. Ask who will be handling it, watch them do it once on trial, and check the heaviest single component rather than the total weight. In exchange for that portability, expect the compromises common to the category: less range, less capable suspension, lower kerb capability and a lighter frame than a non-folding base. If the client's day involves rough ground, distance or steep approaches, the Model C2 is the better specification even though it is harder to transport. Where the Model F fits is the client whose mobility need is intermittent and travel-linked — someone who walks at home but needs powered mobility for shopping centres, appointments, airports and holidays, and who needs it to go in a car without a hoist or vehicle modification. As with the rest of the WHILL range, this is not a rehab base. No tilt, no recline, no powered seating, no mounting for a prescribed seating system. For pressure risk, postural asymmetry or all-day sitting, prescribe a rehab powerchair instead. Confirm current folded dimensions, component weights, range and capacity with WHILL Australia before quoting — and confirm the folded size against the specific vehicle boot, not a generic figure.
We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
