The problem TheraCloud is built to solve is not the mattress — it is what happens to the mattress once it leaves the building. The well-documented failure mode for alternating-air systems in community and residential settings is silent misuse: the pump gets switched off and not switched back on, the weight setting is left at whatever the last client needed, the therapy mode is wrong, or the unit fails and nobody notices. The clinician who prescribed the surface finds out when a wound appears. Every one of those is invisible from outside the room. TheraCloud's control unit is WiFi-connected, so settings and operating status can be monitored and adjusted remotely and in real time. For a clinician managing clients across a region, or a facility responsible for a fleet of pumps, that turns pressure care from something you verify on a visit into something you can verify continuously — and it produces a record. Where a funding submission needs to demonstrate that an expensive surface will actually be used correctly, remote monitoring is a strong and unusual argument. The system is designed and manufactured in Australia, and the surfaces use a patented force-deflate action that actively pulls cells away from the body rather than relying on them to sag under load — the point being reliable, complete offloading over a wound site rather than partial pressure reduction. The control unit is specified to drive both active and immersion-based surfaces in the range, including bariatric configurations. Confirm the flow rate and supported patient weight for the specific surface being paired with it before quoting, as those figures are properties of the surface as much as the pump.
