The S800 sits at the point where a mobility scooter starts behaving like a small vehicle, and it should be prescribed with that framing in mind. The advantages of a larger scooter platform are real: longer range for genuine community distance, better stability at speed, larger wheels and greater ground clearance for unsealed surfaces and kerb ramps, and a seat substantial enough to be tolerable for a full day rather than a trip to the shops. The costs are equally real and should be checked before quoting rather than after delivery: • **Storage.** A large scooter needs somewhere secure, undercover and within reach of a power point. That is a genuine problem in a unit, an apartment or a small townhouse, and it is the most common reason a large scooter goes unused. • **Transport.** At this size, transport means a vehicle hoist or a trailer, not lifting into a boot. Budget for it in the same submission or the client is confined to the range of a single charge from their front door. • **Manoeuvrability.** A long wheelbase turns in a wide circle. It will not be usable inside the home, in a small shop or in a standard accessible toilet, so the client needs a separate solution for indoors. Also confirm the approach to the house. A steep or unsealed driveway is exactly what a larger scooter is for, but the gradient still has to be within the machine's published limit, and the client still has to be able to store and charge it at the top of it.
