**Three products solve three different toileting problems, and they get confused constantly:** - **An over-toilet frame** (this one) stands on the floor, straddles the pan, and provides **both** a raised seat and arm support. It does not depend on the toilet for strength - **A raised toilet seat** clamps to the pan and raises seat height only. Lighter and less intrusive, but the load goes through the pan - **A toilet surround** provides arm support without changing seat height **Specify the frame where the client needs both height and something to push up from**, or where the pan is old, loose or of uncertain integrity — because a floor-standing frame puts no load through it. **Safe working load 160 kg**, above the 136 kg typical of a clamp-on raised seat. Where weight is a factor, the frame is usually the sounder choice for that reason alone. **S-bend side frame** takes the frame out around the hips rather than running straight down, so the client sits on the seat rather than wedged between two rails — which matters more at higher body weights. **Privacy lid** supplied. Small thing, significant to the person using it, particularly where the frame stays permanently in a shared bathroom. **Check the floor before relying on the suction ferrules.** Suction needs a smooth, non-porous surface, and most modern bathrooms use a textured anti-slip tile that will not seal. Inspect the rubber periodically and replace it once perished — worn feet on a wet floor remove the whole safety margin. Height adjustable. **Set it so the client's feet are flat and hips sit at or slightly above knee level.** Too high is a real error here: raise the seat past the point where the feet load properly and the client loses the push-off they need to stand.
