Collapsible rail kit sized for the Avante Hi Lo. **Confirm the length against the specific bed** — Avante supply rail kits in more than one size across the range (860 mm and 1380 mm), and they are not interchangeable. **Bed rails are a restrictive practice.** In Australian aged care they require assessment, consent and documentation before use. Prescribe them for a defined purpose — bed mobility support, or preventing an unintentional roll — rather than fitting them by default. **They do not reliably prevent falls, and can worsen them.** A person intent on getting out of bed climbs over or around the rail and falls from higher onto a harder surface. Where the actual risk is unassisted night exiting, a low bed and a fall mat is usually the better answer. **Entrapment is the specific hazard.** At fitting, check gaps between the bars, between rail and mattress, between rail and headboard, and under the rail end — with someone lying on the bed. A compressible mattress edge only opens the gap under load, and that is the one that causes harm. **Collapsible** means the rail lowers rather than being removed, so it can be dropped for transfers and raised only when indicated.
