Engineered to convert the user's energy into motion so they propel with the least amount of effort, the Nitrum is aimed at active users looking for driving performance, innovative detail and a wide range of options. Instead of several welded parts, a reinforced patented castor mechanism is formed as a single hollow-forged component — the fewest possible elements and no moving parts, ultra-lightweight yet strong and durable without compromising adjustability. Castor position is optimised for handling, turning and propulsion efficiency, and may be set narrower for manoeuvrability or wider for stability. The patented Twist-Lock bar releases the backrest fold one-handed and, with double-locking, doubles as a lift point; it locks without removing sideguards or a low-profile cushion. A standard push-up release bar is also available, along with a lightweight backrest and the Freestyle backrest. Because incorrect weight balance makes a chair harder to push, the Nitrum offers the largest range of sizes and adjustments in its class. Integrated LEDs mount on both castor arms with four LEDs per side and three modes; the water- and shock-proof composite housing runs up to 4 hours and the lithium-ion battery detaches for recharging or to reduce chair weight. Frame is 7020 oval aluminium. Seat width and depth 12 to 20 inches; front seat height 16 to 21 inches; rear seat height 13 to 20 inches; backrest height adjustable 10 to 20 inches or fixed 8 to 19 inches; backrest angle 18 degrees fore to 10 degrees aft; frame angles 75, 80 and 85 degrees; centre of gravity 0 to 4 degrees. Total weight 8.3kg, transport weight 4.9kg, or 4.4kg without wheel locks. Maximum user weight 125kg.
