The bariatric base in the Quantum range, rated to 272 kg (600 lb). Front-wheel drive is used deliberately here: it places the drive wheels beneath the user's centre of gravity, which is what delivers traction and directional control at that load rather than the chair being pushed around by its own mass. Turning radius is 67.3 cm (26"), tight for a bariatric chair, so it remains workable indoors as well as out. The base accepts the full range of rehab seating, electronics and power positioning, and offers optional bariatric tilt — note there is no seat elevation option on this model, unlike the rest of the Quantum range. High-performance, high-efficiency motor package. Q-Logic drive controls. Maximum speed 7.2 km/h. Overall length 97 cm, base width 74 cm, ground clearance 5 cm (2") measured at the anti-tips. Drive tyres are 35.5 × 10 cm (14 × 4" wide) flat-free, with pneumatic knobby extended-traction tyres available; castors 22.8 cm (9") solid.
