Front-wheel drive places the drive wheels ahead of the user, which gives strong climbing ability into kerbs and ramps and lets the chair pull itself over obstacles rather than push over them — the reason front-wheel drive is often specified for users who deal with uneven ground or tight corners daily. Smart Traction Control (STC) is new to this generation and manages wheel slip; upgraded automotive-grade SRS suspension handles shock absorption at the higher speeds this base is capable of. High-torque 4-pole motors and redesigned castor arms, which Quantum states are more durable while also lighter. Q-Logic 3 drive controls, LED front and rear fender lights and quiet ride technology are standard. Crash tested to ISO 7176-19 in all configurations. Maximum speed 10 km/h, reduced to 5.6 km/h with the optional 25.4 cm (10") seat elevation raised. Turning radius 65.8 cm (26"), overall length 101 cm, base width 60.9 cm, ground clearance 7.6 cm at the battery tray. Rear castors 22.8 cm (9") solid.
