From the manufacturer

The 182 kg figure on this unit is wheelchair and user combined, not user alone — Pride states that explicitly on the sell sheet. Subtract the weight of the actual chair before comparing it to the client's weight. On a heavy-duty manual chair that can be 20 kg or more, so the usable client weight is closer to 160 kg than 182 kg. Getting this wrong is one of the more common ways a power-assist quote fails at delivery. Like the standard Power Assist, this is an attendant device rather than a rider control — it exists to reduce the physical load on the person pushing. The HD differs in three ways that matter: it fits wider chairs (16–24", 40.6–61 cm rather than 16–20"), it uses a dual-wheel drive design for traction and stability under the heavier load, and it is controlled by a dial-and-lever controller with a battery indicator rather than a simple squeeze trigger. Published specifications: up to 16 km per charge, maximum speed 6.4 km/h, maximum gradient 6°, 24V 200W motor on 2 x 12V 12Ah sealed lead-acid batteries, PG S-Drive 45A controller. Overall weight is 19.2 kg with a 9 kg battery pack — heavy enough that the mounting brackets are quick-release for removal, but worth confirming the carer can manage the lift into a vehicle. The 6° gradient limit is worth checking against the actual driveway. Six degrees is a little over a 1:10 slope; many residential driveways are steeper than that, and this device is not the answer where they are.
