The P.R.O. Matt® Plus is a non-powered mattress replacement system featuring our Pressure Redistribution Optimization (P.R.O.) Technology. With the addition of an optional control unit, the mattress provides powered immersion or alternating pressure therapy, allowing facilities to use one mattress for both pressure ulcer prevention and treatment. The unique P.R.O. Technology design requires no adjustments or manual inflation. The mattress features a sophisticated internal hosing and valve system that is invisible to the caregiver and patient but enables the surface to automatically adjust to each patient’s weight and body profile.

**One mattress, three modes — and it starts as the non-powered one.** Most pressure care decisions force a choice between a static surface and a powered air system, and changing your mind later means swapping the whole mattress. That is a manual handling job and a transfer for a patient who is, by definition, deteriorating. This is a **non-powered mattress replacement** as supplied. Add the optional control unit and it delivers either **powered immersion** or **alternating pressure therapy**. The same mattress covers prevention and treatment, and can be stepped up or down as skin status changes without moving the patient off the bed. **It sets itself. No adjustments, no manual inflation.** An internal hosing and valve system automatically adapts the surface to each patient's weight and body profile. That removes the most common failure mode in pressure care: a surface set wrong and left that way. Manually inflated systems get set for the wrong weight, or set correctly and never rechecked after the patient loses 10 kg. A surface that self-adjusts cannot be misconfigured by whoever happens to be on shift — which is worth more in practice than a small difference in theoretical performance. **In a power failure, or if the pump fails, the patient is still on a functioning non-powered pressure redistribution surface.** That is the critical difference from a pure air system, which deflates toward the bed platform when it loses power. In a home with unreliable supply, or where a fault might not be noticed overnight, that margin matters. **Powered immersion and alternating are not the same therapy, and the choice is clinical:** - **Immersion** sinks the patient into the surface to spread load over the largest area and holds it constant. Better tolerated by anyone in pain, and it does not disturb sleep - **Alternating** cycles cells in and out to actively offload each area in turn, giving tissue periods of no load at all. Generally the stronger intervention for established damage, but some patients find the movement unsettling Having both on one mattress means the mode is matched to the patient rather than to whatever surface was in stock. **Safe working load 227 kg.** One mattress covering prevention and treatment is a procurement argument as well as a clinical one — a facility holds one stock item instead of two, and does not need a second mattress on site to escalate.
