The Slimline is the compact chair in Oscar's lift range, and the case for it is usually spatial: a client living in a unit, a retirement apartment or a shared room where a full-size lift recliner would dominate or simply would not fit. Measure the room before assuming the larger chairs are an option. It offers zero-gravity lift and recline with headrest and lumbar adjustment. Zero-gravity positioning raises the knees above the level of the heart with the trunk reclined, which redistributes load away from the lumbar spine and off the ischial region — useful for a client who cannot tolerate prolonged upright sitting. Independent headrest and lumbar adjustment lets the support be set to the client's own spinal curve rather than the chair's assumed one. Standard capacity is 130 kg, consistent with the rest of Oscar's lift range. What the Slimline gives up relative to the Barwon and Hudson is size range and modification depth — those chairs come in four height-matched sizes with adjustment across every critical geometry. Where the client has significant postural asymmetry or unusual dimensions, the larger chairs are the more appropriate specification. Where the constraint is the room, this is the one that fits. Battery backup is fitted for power failures but is intended for a single operation, not to run the chair through an outage. Warranty: 5 years foam and frame, 2 years mechanism, electrics and fabric. Made in Australia.
