The Hudson shares the Barwon's chassis, sizing approach and mechanism options; what differs is the backrest, and that is the clinical reason to choose one over the other. Where the Barwon uses a three-roll back — a head roll and twin back rolls, softer and more enveloping — the Hudson uses a two-piece back that gives more defined support through the lower back. Oscar positions it for clients with back and hip presentations, where a soft, deep back allows the pelvis to roll backwards and increases lumbar flexion. If the client reports that they cannot get comfortable in a soft chair, or that their back aches after sitting, the firmer two-piece back is usually the better starting point. Everything else carries across. Four sizes matched to user height, with seat height, width and depth, back height, arm height and footrest length all modifiable — and getting seat depth right is the single most important of those, because excess depth pushes the client into sacral sitting and posterior pelvic tilt. Mechanism options run from single-motor wall-saver (recline without needing clearance behind the chair) through dual motor with independent back angle, to three-motor with tilt in space, and four or five motor with the Comfort Pack's headrest tilt and lumbar airbag. Standard capacity is 130 kg with a heavy-duty 2-motor upgrade to 180 kg. Battery backup is fitted but is intended for a single operation during a power failure, not continuous use. Warranty: 5 years foam and frame, 2 years mechanism, electrics and fabric. Made in Australia.
