The Maverick 12 Rehab is supplied as a power base rather than a finished chair, which is the distinction that matters at prescription. Instead of a fixed captain's seat, it carries a height-adjustable four-post seat frame with independent width and depth adjustment, so a prescribed seating system can be built onto it and the chair fitted to the client rather than the client fitted to the chair. Armrests adjust in both height and width. The drive configuration is mid-wheel: the powered wheels sit under the user's centre of mass, which gives the tightest turning circle of the three drive layouts and makes it the usual choice where the client has to negotiate confined domestic space — hallways, bathroom doorways, aged-care rooms. The trade-off with any mid-wheel six-wheel footprint is that uneven thresholds can strand the chair, which is what the patented articulating obstacle-climbing suspension is there to address, along with adjustable suspension for ride comfort over rough ground outdoors. For clients who will remain seated in the chair during vehicle transport, K Care lists crash-tested tie-down points and a transit-occupied certificate. That documentation is usually a specific requirement for school and community transport, so it is worth confirming at the quoting stage rather than after delivery. Headrest, rear attendant controls and leg rests are available as options.
