The Maverick 10 is the smaller-wheeled sibling of the Maverick 12 and sits at a different point on the indoor-outdoor trade-off. The 10" drive wheels reduce the overall footprint and tighten the turning circle further, which suits a client whose day is spent largely inside a home or facility, but they also reduce ground clearance and the height of obstacle the chair will comfortably mount. If the client regularly crosses grass, gravel, kerb ramps or uneven paving, the 12" version is the more appropriate specification. Like the rest of the Maverick range it is mid-wheel drive, with the powered wheels under the user's centre of mass and dual in-line motors. Mid-wheel drive turns almost within its own length, which is why it is generally preferred over rear-wheel drive for confined domestic environments; the compromise is that it tracks less confidently at speed over long outdoor distances than a rear-wheel drive base. It is supplied with a captain's-style seat rather than the adjustable rehab seat frame. Where a client needs a prescribed cushion and back support mounted to the chair, specify the Rehab power base instead.
