A transportable chair rather than a primary all-day chair, and it should be specified as such — there is no tilt, recline or powered seat function. The quick-release trigger sits under the base and separates the chair into sections in seconds, with the seat and armrests also quick-release. That means a carer can load it into a boot without tools and without lifting the whole assembled weight in one go — the practical constraint that decides whether a chair actually travels or stays at home. Tyres are puncture-proof front and rear, which removes the most common roadside failure for a chair used in shopping centres and on footpaths. The joystick mounts on either side for left or right hand operation. The seat is thickly padded for regular use, and braking is intelligent regenerative electromagnetic, engaging automatically when the joystick is released. A high-back seat version is available (P321XL) where more trunk support is needed. Capacity 114 kg — the lowest in the Merits power range, so check it early against the client's weight before going further.
