From the manufacturer

The Summit is a manual wheelchair with electrically assisted sit-to-stand — a different proposition from the powered C3, and the right one for a client who self-propels and wants standing without moving to a power base. That distinction is worth making explicitly in a submission. Moving an active manual wheelchair user onto a powerchair to obtain standing costs them upper-body conditioning, transport flexibility and, often, independence. The Summit keeps the manual chair — lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium, highly configurable — and adds the standing function to it. The standing rationale is the familiar one: bone density, spasticity and tone, maintenance of hip, knee and ankle range against contracture, bowel and bladder function, orthostatic tolerance, and standing eye level for work and social participation. Evidence quality varies across those outcomes, so name the specific goals for this client rather than listing the set. The one unambiguous effect is pressure — standing fully unloads the seated surface, where tilt and recline only redistribute. One practical feature deserves attention at assessment: the transition can be stopped at any point between sitting and standing. That matters for a client building standing tolerance, for anyone with orthostatic hypotension who needs to come up in stages, and for anyone who uses partial extension as a pressure-relief position through the day rather than committing to a full stand. Cubro list seat widths from 350–500 mm and seat heights of 480, 500, 520 or 540 mm. Overall width is seat width plus 160 mm, overall length is seat depth plus 430 mm — useful for checking doorways and vehicle space directly from the prescribed seat dimensions rather than guessing. Capacity is 125 kg.

We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
