The JAY® J3® wheelchair back range offers a multitude of different widths, heights, and contoured depth back shells to suit the clients individual positional needs. Each backrest is lightweight and adjustable, with numerous hardware choices allowing for easy installation. Designed to specifically address the pelvic and trunk stability needs of the bariatric client, the new J3 Plus Backrest* features an optional lower vanity shell extension that can pivot to accommodate redundant tissues, allowing proper positioning without interference. Accommodating up to 226kg. in widths of up to 26", the J3 Plus Backs are available with either TH 2-point or FS 4-point hardware and features a 2.2" deep contour to provide for non-restricted movement. Fitting the back to the user not the user to the back is the goal of the Spine-Align Posture Conforming system. This is accomplished by combining a wide range of individual foam components to create unique shapes that optimize postural support, evenly distribute pressure, and maximize function. Velcro strips attach to each shape so they can be placed into hundreds of configurations. The flexibility of the system is boundless.

The J3 range offers a wide choice of widths, heights and contoured depth back shells to suit individual positional needs, with each backrest lightweight and adjustable and numerous hardware choices for easy installation. The solid shell comes in five contour shapes: Posterior (PA) with 2.2 inches of lateral thoracic support; Posterior Lateral (PL) with 3 inches; Posterior Deep (PD) with 6 inches of lateral support; Posterior Deep Lateral (PDL) with 6 inches of lateral thoracic support; and Posterior Deep Contour (PDC) with 6 inches of lateral pelvic support. Four hardware options are available — SH, easy to install 2-point quick-release allowing numerous attaching positions; RH, 25 percent lighter than SH and optimised for ultra lightweight wheelchairs without compromising adjustability; TH, 2-point quick-release optimised for tilt-in-space chairs with a lengthened attachment pin and 226kg capacity; and 4-Point quick-release, which withstands greater force by distributing across four mounting locations.
