From the manufacturer

**180 kg looks right, but check which configuration you are quoting — this chair is built to different capacities in different markets.** Our record says 180 kg, and that is corroborated: Invacare's own video describes a TDX SP2 configuration rated to **28 stone (180 kg)**, which is the UK and European heavy-duty build. Invacare's **US** brochure, meanwhile, gives **450 lb (204 kg)** for their heavy-duty variant, against 300 lb (136 kg) for the standard chair. So there are at least two heavy-duty builds of this platform at different ratings. **180 kg is almost certainly correct for the chair supplied here** — but if a client sits between 180 and 204 kg, ask the supplier which build is available rather than assuming the higher figure. --- The heavy-duty variant of the TDX SP2 platform. Everything in the standard chair's specification applies — centre wheel drive, LiNX controls, the full range of alternative inputs — on a reinforced frame. **Two features on this platform address problems most powerchairs don't:** **G-Trac tracking.** Designed to hold a straight line on side slopes, soft or uneven ground, bunched carpet and door jambs — the surfaces where a centre wheel drive chair normally wanders and the driver has to keep correcting. Fewer corrective inputs means less fatigue, which for a user with limited strength or endurance directly affects how far they can actually go in a day. **Extended Shear Reduction (ESR), with recline to 168°.** As the backrest reclines, the back support extends to follow the user's back rather than sliding against it. Without shear reduction, reclining drags skin across the sacrum and scapulae — the mechanism behind most pressure injuries, not pressure alone. On a chair someone occupies all day and reclines in repeatedly, this is doing real clinical work. **Up to 50° of centre-of-gravity tilt** — above the 25–30° threshold where meaningful offloading of the ischial tuberosities begins. **Seat-to-floor height from about 440 mm, with up to about 305 mm of powered seat elevation.** Elevation is easy to dismiss and shouldn't be: it puts the user at eye level in conversation, lets them reach a bench or shelf, and reduces the height difference on a transfer. **Stability Lock uses one-way gas locking cylinders** that engage the moment the rear casters begin to lift, preventing the chair lurching forward over an obstacle. **SureStep suspension** keeps the seat close to level over kerbs and thresholds. **Standard transport brackets** for securing the chair unoccupied in a vehicle. Ground clearance over 65 mm, minimum base turning radius about 510 mm, maximum incline 9°. **Note on sourcing:** the dimensional figures above are converted from Invacare's US brochure, which is the document linked on this record. Australian configurations and warranty terms differ — confirm both with the supplier.
