**Two-step disengaging lever.** This is the safety feature to understand, and it is the reason to prefer the Leo over a cheaper scooter. Freewheel mode disconnects the drive so the scooter can be pushed — which also disables the electromagnetic brake. A scooter knocked into freewheel on a slope will run away, with the user on it and no brake. A **two-step** lever cannot be triggered by a knock or a brush against furniture; it takes a deliberate two-part action. On a single-lever scooter that is a real and recurring incident. **Lighting failure is designed for.** If one light fails, the others keep working — so a single blown globe doesn't leave the user unlit at dusk. The package includes **indicators that switch themselves off** after a turn (users forget, and a permanently blinking indicator misleads drivers) and a **rear brake light**, which is what stops someone walking into the back of the scooter when it slows. **Low battery gives an audible warning as well as a visual one.** Worth specifying for a client with vision impairment, or anyone who won't reliably check a display. Running flat away from home is a stranding event, not an inconvenience. **Swivel seat on sliding rails.** The swivel is a transfer feature: turning the seat to face out removes the need to twist the trunk while standing, which is where many scooter transfers go wrong. **Finite tiller adjustment** — tiller angle sets shoulder and wrist position. Set too far forward it forces sustained shoulder flexion, which becomes painful over a long trip. Corrosion and splash protection on the electronics and motor. For servicing, **only one part needs removing** to reach the battery and electronics — which keeps service time and cost down over the equipment's life. Dismantles for transport.
