From the manufacturer

**A stand assist lifter, not a sling hoist — and Invacare state the client criteria unusually precisely. Use them.** From their own sling documentation, the client must: - have **some weight-bearing ability**, but be unable to stand independently - be **coherent** - have **good body and head control** - be able to **grip the lift boom** during the transfer All four. A client who fails any one of them needs a passive sling hoist instead. Specifying a stand assist for someone who cannot grip or cannot hold their head up is the most common and most dangerous error in hoist prescribing, and this list is a ready-made checklist for a report. **At 200 kg safe working load, our record is the ISA XPLUS**, which has **electric leg spread**. The smaller ISA Compact is 140 kg with manual leg operation — confirm which is on the quote. **Recommended user height 1400–2000 mm**, and the lifter genuinely adjusts across that range rather than claiming to: - **TelescoLift extendable arm, 7 positions**, tool-free lever with a self-locking mechanism - **Lower leg support, 6 height positions**, adjustable one-handed, with an optional ErgoSupport swivel that follows natural lower-leg movement - **Three footplate heights** — High and Flat for 140–160 cm, Intermediate for 160–180 cm (supplied with the lifter), Low and Flat for 180–200 cm. **If your client is outside 160–180 cm, the correct footplate is a separate order.** Footplates are 330 × 300 mm and take a shoe up to US 13 That matters because knee pad and footplate height are what stop the client sliding down during the lift. A stand aid set to the wrong height is not a comfort problem, it is a failed transfer. **Footplates have a removable heel block and a rounded front for toilet approach** — so the lifter can be brought right up to the pan, which is the whole point of using a stand aid for toileting. **Curved legs** to clear chair and toilet bases. **Inside width 480 mm legs closed, 1020 mm opened.** **Turning diameter 1430 mm**, base 1280 × 640 mm, unit weight 52 kg. **Ground clearance 35 mm, leg height 115 mm** — measure the client's actual furniture before specifying. **Lifting speed 46 mm/s and 82 lifts per charge**, roughly double the Birdie EVO's cycle count. The XPLUS ships with a **spare battery and external charger**, so one can charge while the other is in use — which effectively removes downtime in a busy setting. Lockable rear castors. Two sling types are available: **Stand Assist** for standing transfers, and **Transfer Stand Assist** with additional leg support for a seated transfer.
