From the manufacturer

**M12 glide feet, fitted in place of castors.** The choice between glides and castors is a real one and it is usually made by default rather than decided: **Glides** hold the bed still. Nothing to unlock, nothing to fail, and the bed cannot creep away from the wall or roll during a transfer. Where a client pushes off the bed to stand, or a carer works against it, a fixed bed is safer than a braked one — brakes get left off. **Castors** let the bed be moved for cleaning, for access around three sides, or to reposition the room. In a care setting that access matters daily. The trade-off worth naming: **glides remove under-bed clearance for a floor hoist.** If a mobile lifter will ever be used with this bed, specify castors with a stated clearance instead — Avante publish theirs, from 4 inch upward. Specify glides where the bed stays put and stability is the priority; castors where the bed must move or a hoist must fit underneath.

We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
