A hardware-free elastic support, which is the whole point of it: nothing has to be bolted to the chair. Bodypoint positions it for temporary or short-term positioning and lifestyle use — the situation where a user needs some anterior trunk support now, during a trial, after surgery, or intermittently, and a mounted four-point harness cannot be justified or cannot be fitted in time. It is listed as an option for trunk instability where the user is at risk of falling forward or has a lateral flexion tendency. Because it requires no mounting hardware it can move between chairs, which also makes it useful for assessment: a clinician can trial the effect of anterior support before committing to a specific mounted product. It is not a substitute for a fitted harness where sustained postural correction is the goal. A hip belt or other pelvic support should also be worn whenever an anterior trunk support is used.
