From the manufacturer

**A grab rail is not a bed rail, and the distinction matters for documentation.** A grab rail is a short assistive handle the person pulls on to roll, sit up, or steady themselves standing. It is a mobility aid. A full-length bed rail is a barrier, and in Australian aged care that makes it a restrictive practice requiring assessment and consent. A grab rail generally does not. That makes it the first thing to try where the goal is helping someone move in bed independently, rather than containing them. **Two sizes, matched to the bed:** - **380 × 515 mm** — Lo Lo and ErgoAdjust Lo Lo - **530 × 585 mm** — SmartFlex 3 and ErgoAdjust Care Check which bed it is going on before ordering. **Specify left or right.** Avante supply handed versions. Fit it on the side the person actually exits from, and on the side of their stronger arm — for a hemiplegic user those may not be the same side, and the stronger arm usually wins. For a client who can reposition themselves given something to pull on, a grab rail often removes the need for a carer at night entirely.

We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
