From the manufacturer

The Rehab RS sits at the low-to-medium end of Aspire's rehabilitation range, and it is worth being clear about what that band means when you are justifying a choice. A rehab wheelchair differs from a standard folding chair in that its geometry is adjustable rather than fixed — seat-to-floor height, backrest angle, rear axle position and centre of gravity can be set to the client instead of the client adapting to the chair. That adjustability is the entire clinical argument. A standard transit chair puts every client into the same posture; a rehab chair lets you correct a pelvic obliquity, set the axle so a self-propeller can reach the handrim without over-reaching their shoulder, or shift the centre of gravity for a client with a lower-limb amputation whose mass sits further back. At the low-to-medium level, the trade-off is that adjustment ranges are narrower and the frame is heavier than a high-end rehab chair. It suits a client whose postural needs are real but stable and moderate — not one with significant asymmetry, tone-driven posturing or complex pressure risk, who needs a chair with a wider adjustment envelope and a prescribed seating system mounted to it. The axle position deserves specific attention if the client self-propels. Moving the rear axle forward makes the chair easier to push and reduces the shoulder work of each stroke, but it also reduces rearward stability. That is a genuine trade-off to set on trial with the client, not a factory default to accept. Aspire is Aidacare's own brand. Confirm the current adjustment ranges, available seat widths and weight capacity for the specific configuration with Aidacare before quoting — the published detail for this model is thinner than for the rest of their range, and the capacity figure in particular should not be assumed.

We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
