If a client sits anywhere near 159 kg, or their weight is likely to increase, the A3 is the safer specification. There is nothing between the two. **Custom sizing is the reason to choose Ambassador**, and it matters more than the capacity number for most clients. Fit determines whether a lift chair helps or harms, and standard recliners come in a couple of sizes that suit the average person and nobody else. Too deep and the client slides forward to get their feet down, loses back support entirely, and sacral sits for hours a day — loading the sacrum where pressure injuries form. Too wide and they lean, and over months that becomes a fixed lateral posture. Cushions do not fix either. **Measure and specify:** - **Seat depth** — two to three fingers between the back of the knee and the seat edge - **Seat width** — roughly 25 mm clearance each side of the hips - **Seat height** — feet flat, hips level with or slightly above the knees - **Back height** — supporting the shoulders without pushing the head forward **Dual motor**, so backrest and leg rest drive independently rather than on one fixed arc — which allows a fixed hip angle, a flexion contracture, or legs elevated above heart height for oedema. **Set the lift so it brings the client to standing height without tipping them forward off the front edge.**
