**Australian made.** A heavy-duty frame that stands around the toilet to give bilateral support for sitting and standing. **Check whether the unit you are quoting is fixed or adjustable height before specifying.** Our record describes an adjustable-height frame; Active Medical's current listing for the Staebel Toilet Surround describes a fixed-height one. They may be different SKUs. It matters — a fixed frame is more rigid and suits a heavier user who pulls hard through the rails, but it has to be matched to the client and the toilet at the outset and cannot be changed later. A surround differs from a raised toilet seat and does a different job: it provides something to **push up from**, rather than reducing the distance to stand. Where the limitation is quadriceps strength or balance rather than hip range, the surround is the right answer — and the two are often prescribed together. **Non-slip rubber feet** on a coated mild steel frame. Check the feet periodically: perished or missing rubber on a wet bathroom floor removes the entire safety margin.
