The Complex Needs configuration of the Empresa platform, built around fall protection for residents who cannot be left safely on a standard profiling bed. On top of the shared Empresa platform it adds **adjustable side rails**, a **lockout feature** so a resident cannot alter their own position where that would be unsafe, and an **auto safety-stop**. The lockout is worth thinking through at assessment rather than after delivery — it is a restrictive practice in some settings and may need documenting as such, so check it against the client's behaviour support plan. The platform beneath it: mattress height adjusts from 100 mm to 800 mm, so the bed can be dropped to floor level for fall prevention overnight and raised to a safe working height for care tasks. Pre-programmed one-touch care and comfort positions give consistency between carers and shifts. Profiling functions are backrest with BodyMove, legrest, Trendelenburg 15° and anti-Trendelenburg 15°. **BodyMove** matters clinically. Moving from supine to sitting lengthens the body along the mattress; a fixed backrest hinge drags the body against the surface instead, producing shear at the sacrum. BodyMove auto-regresses the backrest to follow that lengthening, redistributing pressure and reducing shear — relevant for any resident already carrying a wound or at risk of one. Extends from 2000 mm to 2200 mm, and to 1050 mm wide with the optional width extension kit.
