The Zippie IRIS® rotation-in-space wheelchair offers a superior combination of positioning, maneuverability, and increased portability with the XLOCK® folding crossbrace option. This tilting wheelchair uses patented rotation-in-space technology to rotate the seat frame around the user’s center of gravity. This rotational system provides the shortest possible wheelbase without compromising stability. It also ensures a smooth and controlled rotation.

The IRIS uses patented rotation-in-space rather than conventional tilt: the seat frame rotates around the child's centre of gravity, which produces the shortest possible wheelbase without losing rear stability and keeps the motion smooth and controlled through the range. The rotation arm was designed specifically for paediatric users. Two rotation ranges are available — 40° or 55° — which can be set up to achieve up to 45° or 60° of posterior rotation. Carer features include a foot-release tilt actuator that removes exposed cables, push-button hub locks mounted on the back canes, and an angle-adjustable stroller handle with 260° of adjustment (standard with the height-adjustable backrest) so the chair can be pushed from a tilted position by carers of differing heights. Growth: the folding frame carries up to 4" of built-in depth growth and 2" of built-in width growth; the rigid frame is available with width-adjustable strut tubes. Under the True Fit Growth program the original owner qualifies for one free growth kit within five years, containing all parts needed to change seat width and depth. Seat width 10–16" folding (grows to 18") or 10–18" rigid, seat depth 10–18", seat height 13–19" (11–17.5" with drop seat), backrest height 16–24" depending on back type, backrest angle −5° to +30°. Overall width 17.5–25.5". Chair weight 16 kg folding, 14.5 kg rigid.
